Capstone

Description

Founded in America in 1988, Capstone Microturbines are power generators capable of operating on various gaseous or liquid fuels. Each unit is similar to a miniature jet engine in a case the size of a sub-zero refrigerator.
Cyclect is Capstone’s authorized Singapore sales and service provider.

Advantages

Capstone microturbines emit very low emissions, making them a clean, green, reliable source of energy. State-of-the-art electronics convert the high frequency power from the turbogenerator into useful 50 or 60 Hz three-phase output. They are also scalable from 30 kilowatts (kW) to a few megawatts (MW).

The turbogenerator has just one moving part supported by Capstone’s patented maintanence-free air bearings and require no liquid lubricants or coolants.

Applications/Solutions

Capstone microturbines are an ideal solution to today’s distributed generation (DG) needs, in applications such as cogeneration, resource recovery (Biogas, Oil & Gas) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). In CHP and CCHP applications, besides generating electrical power, they also generate usable exhaust heat which can provide hot water, or drive an absorption chiller for air-conditioning, among other uses.
